Students in Pre-Primary to Year 6 have the opportunity to participate in subjects delivered by specialist Teachers.
Physical Education and Health
Physical Education is formally delivered to every student in Pre-Primary to Year 6 for one block every week. Additionally, students in Year 3 – 6 participate in Senior Sport every Friday afternoon.
Our Physical Education specialist also organises and implements a School Cross Country and School Athletics Carnival. Students also have the opportunity to participate at Interschool level for Cross Country, Athletics, and the Winter and Summer Carnival.
For some classes, our Physical Education also teaches them Health for one block per week, with every other class receiving Health from their classroom Teacher.
Indonesian
Students in Year 3 – 6 participate in Indonesian for one block every week. They learn the language, but also immerse themselves in the rich culture of this beautiful country, studying special commemorations through to discovering what life looks like for children of the same age in Indonesia.
Science
We recently acquired a specialist room to deliver our Science program in the school. Students in Pre Primary to Year 6 attend at least one block per week with a Specialist Teacher as they explore, participate and engage in the world around them.
Music
We also recently acquired a brand new Music room in the school, allowing our students a greater space to immerse themselves in our Music program. Students in Pre Primary to Year 6 participate in one block per week, where they listen to music and become aware of rhythm, pitch, dynamics and expression, as well as have the opportunity to be exposed to music from different cultures, times and locations.
Our Music specialist also coordinates a very active choir who practice every week and participate in major events each year.
Students in Year 5 and 6 have the opportunity be involved with the Instrumental Music School Services (IMSS) program. While this program is taught at school, it is not governed or selected by us. IMSS provides a wonderful opportunity for selected students to further their musical interest via a specialist program in an instrument of their choice.
Art
For students in Year 1 to 6, they have the opportunity to be involved in one Art lesson per week in a Specialist classroom. Visual Arts allows students to experience visual representations of their ideas, experiences, observation and imagination.
Each year, our Art Specialist also delivers an Art Exhibition, which is very popular for students as they get the opportunity to showcase their creativity to the community.
